When WebP to PNG is the right call
Converting WebP to PNG gives you two things JPG can't: transparency and lossless quality. If the WebP you've got is a logo, icon, sticker, or any image with a see-through background, PNG keeps that background transparent. And because PNG is lossless, it's the right choice when you'll edit the image or need its edges and text to stay perfectly sharp.
It's also the most compatible option for transparent images — PNG opens in essentially every program and operating system, including ones that don't recognise WebP at all.
The trade-off: file size
WebP is one of the most space-efficient formats around, and PNG is lossless, so expect the PNG to be larger — sometimes considerably, especially for photographic content. That's the cost of compatibility and losslessness. If the image is a photo and you don't need transparency, WebP to JPG will give you a smaller file.
PNG is lossless, so there's no quality setting to tune — every pixel from the WebP is preserved exactly. To control size, use the Max width field to scale the image down.
How to convert
- Output is already set to PNG.
- Drop your WebP files above, or click to browse.
- Download each PNG, or all of them as a ZIP.
JPG will be much smaller and still opens everywhere.
